What is your favorite thing about Syracuse?

My favorite things about SU is how passionate everyone in the Syracuse community is about the school. Student and alumni love talking about their experience at SU and imparting wisdom about how to get the most out of your experience.

What is your favorite Syracuse memory?

My sophomore year, I took advantage of the buses to Houston for the Final Four. Even though we lost the game, it was still the most incredible experience. Being a part of that community and being able to experience a Final Four in the student was an unmatched experience. Plus, I got to meet one of my biggest inspirations when Joe Biden L’68 made his way through our student section.

If you could tell a new or incoming student just ONE thing about Syracuse, what it would be?

My best piece of advice for a new student would be to join organizations because it is the perfect way to find your place on campus and meet your closest friends. I really did meet some of my closest friends in the organizations I’ve been a part of.

My freshman year, one of the things I was most excited to get involved in was Student Association. I was elected to represent the students in my home college and have been doing so ever since. One of the most impactful things I have done while at SU is acting as the undergraduate representative to a committee that created campus free speech policy recommendations for administration. It is that kind of campus wide impact that attracted me to SA. During my time in SA I have worn many hats. I am currently the Board and Elections and Membership chair, handling all elections, recruiting and internal matters. I also sit on the Alumni Board as a student representative. SA has shaped my college experience and I love being a part of an organization that creates positive change on our campus. -JB

The connections one can make at SU are unparalleled. In February, I was accepted to the Center for Social Commerce ambassadorship and W2O Group internship combined program. This program was created by the generosity of a Newhouse alumnus and has been an incredible year for me. I started off my ambassadorship at SXSW interactive conference in Austin, TX. I was running social channels at various W2O Group events and got to hear some phenomenal speakers. Over the summer, I interned in W2O Group’s New York office. I loved working in an agency and juggling the demands of multiple clients. As a Center for Social Commerce ambassador, I’ve had the chance to meet some of the most influential figures in the communication field. Being a part of this program for my junior and senior years have taught me so much about the industry I will be entering. -JB
