Cassie Dagostino ’16 is from Brooklyn, NY and is double majoring in Public Relations at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and Political Science at the College of Arts and Sciences.

On campus, Cassie is a public relations intern in the SU Office of News Services, a member of #44Social – SU’s student social media team – and was the first student to take over the @OurSyracuseU Instagram account. Cassie is also on the Student Affairs Advisory Board and is the current president of the Delta Phi Epsilon sorority. She studied abroad in Florence, Italy in the spring of 2015 and interned at the public

What is your favorite part about SU?

Everything. SU perfectly fit everything I wanted and needed in my college experience. My quote in USA Today about what the best part of SU is pretty much sums up my favorite things about SU: ‘If you’re looking for a well-rounded education and college experience, Syracuse University is the place to go. At SU, we have such a broad range of reputable programs and schools, which adds to the nice blend of a small school feel at a large university. The opportunities are endless, from student organizations to study abroad locations. The campus is beautiful. The alumni are accomplished and supportive. The students are diverse. And anyone who attends, works at, or is a fan of SU is eternally united by our undeniable love and pride of bleeding orange.

What is your favorite SU memory?

The One World Concert, Oprah’s visit to Newhouse, or studying abroad.

Hi, my name is Cassie Dagostino and this week I’ll be sharing aspects of my day-to-day life at @syracuseu! I am a senior public relations and political science dual major in @newhousesu and CAS who is in denial about graduating upon the end of this year. Although I love being as involved as I am, my many responsibilities make for a very busy schedule. It’s important to take some time to relax with friends and just enjoy the beautiful environment that is SU. One of my favorite spots is on top of the hill by Crouse College – the perfect place to watch the sunset reflect off of @newhousesu. – CD #SyracuseU

Schine has always been my go-to spot for breaks between classes. I usually need some noise around me to get work done and Schine is the perfect environment to study or to grab lunch with friends! – CD #SyracuseU

Finishing a paper you’re proud of is extremely satisfying. This semester I’m taking PSC 316 – The Supreme Court in American Politics and I absolutely love it. We started off the semester with a paper on one of the Justice’s views of the role of the Supreme Court. Throughout the semester we will be simulating cases that make it to the Court and acting out the different roles. Interactive classes are one of my favorite aspects of my education at SU. – CD #SyracuseU

#TBT Last semester I studied abroad at the @suabroad Florence center and it was by far the most enlightening experience of my life. Going into it I was very nervous and was worried I would be homesick, but once I was in Italy time went so fast (and the food was so good) that I never wanted to leave. I could not be more grateful for the memories and friends I made and the amazing host family I lived with. The biggest piece of advice I can offer any SU student is to go abroad, you will not regret it. – CD #SyracuseU

It’s amazing how you can get to your senior year at a university and still not know all of the buildings on campus. Today I had a Panhellenic president’s meeting in Hoople, a building I never knew was on campus and spent more time googling images of than I’m proud to admit. Being president of my sorority is an incredible responsibility and it definitely isn’t easy. However, I’m lucky to have a support system of women within my chapter, women and men in other chapters, and from the university. It’s a once in a life time experience and is a tremendous opportunity to grow as a leader. – CD #SyracuseU

What a crazy week it’s been! Between classes, work, student organization commitments, football games, studying, and trying to relax and have fun, time is flying by and it’s scary. It’s scary to think how fast this semester will go and how fast graduation will come around. I love @syracuseu and will forever be in denial about ever having to leave.
